How can good instructional design ensure that the course meets student needs?
From my experience .I think when teacher ask students in the first day class meeting what they want to learn in her course so the teacher could designed a good course that match student need. Also , when student interact with teacher face to face or on line by asking several question about the topic so teacher can answer all these questions then the teacher should ask his student as fed back to know how did student understand the information. Also , when professor want to make shore that all student understand lecture, the professor will ask a lot of question and give home work and exercises to student. The successful professor provide his student with syllabus that has all the information about the course so student can prepare himself very well and know what to do in each lesson that is the accomplishment that professor want to receive when his student understand his lesson. Also the teacher could give the opportunity to all student to shoes a topic of each class to start with.
How can good instructional design ensure course quality?
When a good instruction creates designed for his course. The instruction must go over the material of the course many times to know from where to begin. Also must ask his self how to present the course in positive way .Also, the instructor should test his course material in deferent computer or with his other friend to make shore that his course is working very well and match student skills and make shore the course working at the same level and at the end of the course evaluate the process of the activity very well. Moreover, professor must be concern about the quality of the information that he provided to student. Also, Professor teaching diversity should provide his information through deferent way by face to face lecture, if he want to get quick feedback from student or using on line devises like podcast ,record his lecture as video and use dissection bored so that can make the class more effective .when professor give online lecture he must be shore that all student connected with him all the time so the professor can go all over the answer in flexible way.

Course overview :
This class is introduction to Arabic language.The program five week intensive Arabic program. There will be many activity in this program for my student during this program like reading , writing, singing, problem solving and story in this program by using on line tools to communicate with instructor, content and each other like Skype, dim dim, blog and email. the student will also learn how to socialized and conduct to another culture’s . there will be quizzes and home work in this course
Also I will create syllabus and power point for my course and provide my student with good links.
This course is about :
Arabic grammar rule ,writing instruction and way of reading passages and they will create their own blog if they don’t know.
State at least three goals or content objectives for your eLearning unit.
The goals and objectives
students will learn how to speak ,read and write Arabic
Student will learn how to use online tools like skype, dim dim and email
Student will learn how to communicate with instructor , content and each other by using deferent online tools
The student will learn to think in creative way
Student will try to design a blog and develop there language skills
The student will learn how to socialized with Arabic people and know more about their culture
student will learn how to use the internet in creative way
student wil have a good and alot of Arabic vocabulary .
5. Explain how you will determine if your students have mastered the content objectives you have created.
Student will take quiz at the end of each class and homework .
The quiz will be a after each lesson in the blackboard.
Student will send his or her home work as e mail to the instructor before due date to get a quick feedback to correct there error of their home work
Student will use blog,skype,dim dim to communicate with instructor ,content and each other.
Student will use blackboard to know the syllabus and course document.
Student will use the online library in order to develop there language skills

To design the course I would use university library to read a lot of books about teaching online course. And I will provide my student with course document and syllabus .When student use blogs at first time they will face difficulty because it will be a new experience for them . I will teach them how to create a blog to communicate with the course ,instructor and each other. The student must communicate in each other work and help each other. In this class there will be online helper to help any student need help. After student finch their homework and quiz .Also if they have a problem they will send me an e mail of the most difficult part that they are face it so that I can help them and give them quick feedback on where they are having problem with it. The CMC will limited student and teacher creativity because it provide teacher with limited tool so teacher cannot develop their student skills.
Explain how you would do development and testing of content.
In developing my designed , I will provide my student all the information that they need to create there bloge and start posting there assignment and fallow them a step by step when they sent it to me by e mail there home work . I will provide my student video link and power point. I will be concern about student interaction with the course and communicate with each other. At the end of the course I will test MY student on the thing that I thought them to do , also I will give them a survey to know what they think about the course.

ReplyDeleteThis is a course that for sure I would like to take. Language courses are perfect for online delivery.Online you can study the language on your own time. Are you going to use your own voice for proper pronunciation and dialect? That would be awesome!

Good work! Think about how instructional design helps the developer plan for good interactions and identify goals/objectives/methods even before the first day of class! This is so important as you are hopefully learning in this class.

ReplyDeleteYour course sounds very interesting. What caught my eye the most was that you were going to provide your students opportunities to sing. I think this is a great innovative decision on your part for an activity.
I am currently learning to sing a song sung in the Filipino language. It is very difficult for me to pronounce the words, as this language uses articulation points in the mouth that are very contrary to the English articulation points.
I have the song in two versions on a CD. The first version of the song is the tone of the song with the sung words. The second version is a person pronouncing the words correctly, stressing certain articulations.
